In my adult life I visited a few churches but I never felt like I belonged or I felt like I was not worthy to be there. After I divorced I met a family and like many people, they invited me to visit their church. After about the fifth invitation I went. The love in this church was overwhelming. They let me know right quick I was worthy to be there. I joined the Baptist Church. "Smiling" Our Sunday school class had the opportunity to go to a Billy Graham Training Center called The Cove in Asheville North Carolina. The whole time I was there I felt this love among people I had never felt before. I Praise God for Billy Graham. Something I learned there was to replace my thoughts of the flesh with thoughts of the Spirit of God. I am replacing my desires of the flesh with the desire to know God, to praise Him and to fear only Him.
Romans 10:9 says "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved". This sounds so simple. All you have to do is believe. We tend to have to see to believe. I have never seen Jesus but yet I believe in Him with all my heart. 1 Peter 1:8 "You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him, you trust him." John 3:18 "There is no judgement awaiting those who trust him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God".
God gives us the choice to believe in Him or not. We have the choice to let God be our Master or let the world rule over us. We have a choice to do things pleasing to the Holy Spirit or do things that are pleasing to our flesh. We have the choice to do the right thing or do the wrong thing. Our actions speak much louder than words. We believe that temporary thrills, pleasures that cater to the flesh, will make us happy. God's word is the only source of true, lasting happiness.
